20 Years of Turning Cleantech Ideas into World-Changing Solutions
In 2005, a small group of visionaries came together with a simple but radical belief: that innovation could solve the world’s biggest environmental challenges, if only those ideas had the right support to grow.
From that belief, Cleantech Open was born.
What started as a grassroots effort in California has grown into the world’s largest and longest-running cleantech accelerator. Over the past 20 years, Cleantech Open has helped more than 2,100 early-stage startups get off the ground. These companies have gone on to raise over $3 billion, create tens of thousands of jobs, and commercialize solutions that reduce emissions, clean our water, optimize agriculture, and electrify our transportation systems.
But the most powerful part of the story isn’t just the numbers, it’s what they mean. Entrepreneurs can turn breakthrough ideas into real, working solutions.
Cleantech Open is more than an accelerator. It’s a launchpad, a mentor network, a proving ground, and a lifeline for innovators navigating the early, uncertain days of building a cleantech startup.
